PKDs idea is that humanity is under a spell, or has become infected with a 'mind-virus'. This virus has colonised our psyche, and one of its main effects is that it tells us that there is no mind-virus.
Imagine that the psyche as a whole is outer space, and the stars and planets are the egregores; each has a ‘gravity’ which pulls thoughtforms with lower ‘mass’ towards them. The more people who are attracted to an egregore, the more power it has.
We apparently need a scapegoat on whom to blame 'the bad stuff', whether or not there is one single entity at fault for what ails us. Does the devil have goat's feet by coincidence?
We glimpsed the world that could be, a world that most of us have borne at least brief witness to. Where wordless harmony calls the tune and our eyes are fixed on the same light beyond the horizon, a light that comes from a place deeper than our differences.

Part two of 'The Solid State Entity, or the real reason why we can't have nice things.'
There are two separate but intertwined ideas which I hope to explore in this series: that the unforeseen consequences of our individual(ist) decision making are creating a nightmare world, and that this encroaching darkness has some kind of identity or will of its own.
Everyone's at it, so if you can't beat 'em etc. I want writing to become a habit and I think this is a nice way to create that habit. I will also be featuring some of my photography along with the words. So if you
